Walter Rasmussen has specialized in Adult Echocardiography for 30 years and teaches echocardiography imaging skills to students, cardiology fellows and sonographers. He has experienced the evolution of Echocardiography from its most basic M-Mode only platform through two-dimensional imaging, the introduction of Spectral Doppler, Spectral Doppler with imaging and then Color Doppler. In the past 5 years, Mr. Rasmussen has experience in three-dimensional imaging and various types of strain imaging.
Mr. Rasmussen’s recent work has centered upon improving sonographer skills and researching the theory and operation of color Doppler ultrasound systems in order to improve the diagnostic quality of echocardiographic examinations.
Mr. Rasmussen presently works full-time as a Cardiac Sonographer at the University of California Medicial Center in San Francisco, California. He uses 6 different models of ultrasound machines, including those manufactured by Philips, GE and Siemens.
